Kim Ryeo-Ryeong’s—The Trunk

Kim Ryeo-Ryeong’s—The Trunk

Noh carts her trunk from one job to the next. Her latest is a repeat assignment with the same “husband” she spent a year with. Her parents know she works for W & L, but like her best friend, they have no idea exactly what she does. Her best friend sets her up on a blind date with Tae-seong, but Noh takes an instant dislike to him, and he begins to stalk her. How will she navigate her present assignment and deal with Tae-seong?

I read this book in a day because I couldn’t put it down, but how did it compare with the Netflix series based on The Trunk? I loved the tv series too because I liked how it expanded on the husband’s ex-wife’s obsession of trying to control his life. I liked the husband’s vulnerability and the gradual development of his relationship with Nor. I also liked how the trunk played a bigger role in the series than the book. However, the book added more depth into Noh’s friendships during her teenage years and I preferred its ending in relation to Tae-seong than the tv series. But I recommend both!
